Fishermen have long touted Stagecoach Reservoir as the home of many record-setting pike for the state of Colorado. It is also known for being one of the greatest trout fisheries in the Rocky Mountains, period. It is not uncommon to hear people talk about catching 10-15 trout in a single guided fishing trip. While the occasional brown trout is caught at Steamboat Springs Guided Fishing Tours, our main catch is the coveted rainbow trout, with the average catch coming in at 14 inches long with a weight of one-and-a-half pounds. Located less than 20 minutes from downtown Steamboat Springs, Stagecoach Reservoir is fed by the pristine Yampa River and surrounded by the picturesque Yampa Valley mountains just brimming with wildlife like elk and bald eagles.
The friendly and knowledgeable guides on the team at Steamboat Springs Guided Fishing Tours take great pride in making sure everyone is comfortable and able to focus on making the catch during their guided ice fishing tour. We are able to facilitate a fun and distraction-free experience by providing heated huts and some of the most advanced technology for ice fishing on the lake, including personal fish finders and underwater cameras that set you up for success. Additionally, we offer an enhanced viewing experience with underwater cameras featuring larger screen HDTVs. Moreover, we provide Starlink internet access along with a second TV, allowing you to watch the game or your favorite movie while catching fish.

Steamboat Springs Guided Fishing Tours offers three guided fishing trips a day on our fleet of very comfortable and well outfitted pontoon boats. Our guided day trips around Stagecoach Reservoir are three hours in duration, with a morning and afternoon option, in addition to our unforgettable and picturesque Sunset Fishing Cruise around the lake. We mainly target trout and catch Rainbow Trout the most with brown trout as a close second. We find that the ideal time to go trout fishing is when the water temperature is between 50°F – 65°F otherwise, when the temperature is higher than that, they tend to drop another 30ft. Of course, don’t fret if you end up fishing with us on a warmer day because our guides have the equipment to get the job done. Looking to reel in some Northern Pike? Just let us know and we can get that set up for you once the water temps are ideal for that catch. While all our guided fishing trips are guaranteed to exceed expectations, our most popular is this evening trip where guests are able to soak in the beautiful Colorado sunsets and take advantage of the best time of day to reel in more fish on Stagecoach Reservoir.
